Covenant Conversations

  This was in a park of Downtown Daejeon.  We went there somewhat often, though it was a bit of a hike from home.  The sidewalks were wide, and we had the triple babyjogger.            Christopher is seated in our Baby Jogger in a park with the Dae Jeong Jah building behind him.     Here we have Nathaniel, Mother, David, and then David seated in the Triple Baby Jogger, crossing a bridge in a Daejeon park.  A Matter of Respect:     In our church, Ashley gets respect from the elderly, and from most men.  They ask her if she wants to go to school. She tells them no, and they do not ask again.  Not so with the  younger women of the church. Here in South Korea we pretend to be a gambling family.  That cigar was not actually lit, nor had we ever played any kind of gambling game.  We did not let that minor detail stop us from dressing up to snap a few photos.  In Christ, we can and should strive to understand the cultural context where we live, in order to better adapt our witness of the gospel to those around us.  The Burning Man Festival in the  United States, began in 1986 in California and moved to a more capacious venue in Nevada to has   been an unusual expression of a growing awareness of spiritual dearth among those most afflicted by postmodernism.
